Season of Creation 2025

 It is ten years since Pope Francis released his first message Show Mercy to Our Common Home to mark this day of prayer. This year we also celebrate the 800th anniversary of St. Francis’ Canticle of Creation and the 10th anniversary of the ground-breaking encyclical Laudato Si’ which takes its name from the Canticle.

This year's theme Peace with Creation calls us to work for justice, solidarity, reconciliation, and harmony with Creation..  

Pope Leo reminds us that "Environmental justice – implicitly proclaimed by the prophets – can no longer be regarded as an abstract concept or a distant goal. It is an urgent need that involves much more than simply protecting the environment. For it is a matter of justice – social, economic and human...Now is the time to follow words with deeds."
