Pope Francis: Message for the City (Rome) and the World

In his “Urbi et Orbi” (for the city and for the world) message delivered on Christmass Day, Pope Francis addressed the many challenges facing the world:

for an end to war in Ukraine, and the Middle East,

peace and reconciliation for the people of Libya, and Cyprus,

the effects of the humanitarian crisis in Democratic Republic of Congo, Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger and Mozambique,

the suffering experienced by the people of Myanmar,

the divisions in the Americas.

He also prayed that this Jubilee offer an opportunity to forgive debts, especially of the poorest countries
