Opening of the Holy Door for the Jubilee Year of Hope

On Christmas Eve, Pope Francis opened the Holy Door of St Peter's Basilica  marking the beginning of the Jubilee Year of Hope. The door will remain open for the entire year to allow pilgrims to pass through.

In his message proclaiming the Jubilee Year, 'Hope Does Not disappoint', Pope Francis challenged each of us" to offer a smile, a small gesture of friendship, a kind look, a ready ear, a good deed, in the knowledge that, in the Spirit of Jesus, these can become, for those who receive them, rich seeds of hope.”
