International Day of Prayer and Awareness Against Human Trafficking, 8 February
Human trafficking and modern slavery is an area of concern for the Mercy Foundation. Globally, the Sisters of Mercy have been working to address this issue for a number of years.

In 2015, Pope Francis designated 8 February, the feast of St Josephine Bahkita, as the International Day of Prayer and Awareness against Human Trafficking. A global ‘online pilgrimage of prayer has been organised for this day. Information on joining this event can be found here.
