For Christians in Areas of Conflict

In the last prayer intention for 2025, the Pope asks us to pray “that Christians living in areas of war or conflict, especially in the Middle East, might be seeds of peace, reconciliation and hope.”

Released on the eve of his first apostolic journey to Türkiye and Lebanon, now underway,  Pope Leo invited us to not “fall into indifference,” and to be “builders of unity,” praying together with him to the “God of peace” for those communities who must not feel abandoned. 

The images accompanying this video  show examples of unshakeable faith even in the midst of rubble. We see celebrations in Iraqi villages come back to life after the war, the strength of the parish community of Gaza, and the indispensable work of Caritas in Lebanon among the poor and refugees.

Let us pray that Christians living in areas of war or conflict, especially in the Middle East, might be seeds of peace, reconciliation and hope.
