Follow the Synod

Two Sisters of Mercy, Sr Elizabeth Davis from Newfoundland and Sr Angela Mary Perez from Guam, are among the delegates.

The topics for discussion include women deacons, priestly celibacy and LGBTQ outreach, which surfaced as priorities during the listening sessions held in preparation for the Assembly.

An ecumenical prayer service to entrust the work of the October session of the Synod to God took place in St. Peter’s Square on September 30. At the invitation of Pope Francis, Father Timothy Radcliffe op is leading a three-day retreat for all participants from 1-3 October.
